Michael Dunkel graduated in law from the University of Sydney in 1968 and in the same year was admitted to practice as a solicitor and attorney in New South Wales and thereafter in the High Court of Australia. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia in 1978 and became a member of the International Tax Planning Asssociation in 1982. Michael works mainly in revenue law, trusts and business structures. His law firm, which he established in 1969, specializes in property and business related transactions. Michael advises various well-known business figures, high net worth individuals and families and companies, his experience having spanned a period of 35 years of practice in which he has provided clients with professional expertise in acquisitions and sales and major ventures of all kinds, structuring business transactions, advising clients in most business areas and in investments into and out of Australia in the most tax-efficient manner. His expertise in cross border transactions for major enterprises has enabled him to work closely with a number of U.S. and U.K. legal firms. He has also been involved in major tax litigation matters.
