Personal Profile

Farah Jaafar-Crossby

Director, Market Intelligence and Content Creation Labuan IBFC Inc.

Farah Jaafar-Crossby has spent her entire career working in the Malaysian capital markets and financial services sector. Having started her career as an institutional dealer for the equity and derivatives market, she then shifted gears and moved on to become a Specialist Writer at the Corporate Desk of Malaysia’s oldest daily. Farah’s legal training and capital markets background kept her in good stead as the General Manager of the Association of Stock Broking Companies in Malaysia. She then moved on to the role of Head of Marketing Communications for Bursa Malaysia, Malaysia’s sole stock and futures exchange. Aside from promoting the exchange regionally, she was actively involved in the exchange’s demutualisation exercise and its subsequent floatation exercise. Adjusting her remit to the promotion of an entire jurisdiction, Farah's current challenge is to generate a better understanding of the unique aspects offered by Labuan IBFC via her service at Labuan IBFC Inc, the promotional arm of the Labuan Financial Services Authority. She looks forward to further developments in Labuan IBFC specifically, and the changing landscape of the financial services industry generally.
